Translation Kits which are generated with Clear-CAT® are based on RTF and are intended for processing with TRADOS®. Depending on settings both Workbench, and Tag editor like material can be generated.

The flexibility of the node based tree provides the user the capability to generate material intended for translation from each of the node levels in the structure. While translation kits can be generated across multiple products and languages it is also possible to generate a translation kit for just one of the languages or product components.

Similar to the activity which enables the material explorer to manipulate files in the material explorer, a Translation kit creation is linked to a different activity called "Create a Kit".

After this activity is switched on the user can generate a translation kit by right-clicking the node, selecting "Generate" followed by the type of kit to generate.

Clear-CAT supports both text based translation kits called "Translation Text Kit", as well as Image based translation kits called "Translation Image Kit" which can be redirected to a DTP specialist to extract the text from the image, before this can be translated by a translator.

After the "Translation Text Kit" is selected a language and target directory dialogbox is presented, which is used to distribute the translation material to the translators.

The translation kit languages which are presented in the "Select language pair" box are directly related to the location in the material explorer which was used to start the translation kit.

Translation kits can be generated for any number of unnamed translators per language, or can be customized in such a way that the names of individual translators are used to redirect the output files directly to the proper FTP and directory location (on FTP) of the named translator.

Clear-CAT also supports a method to distribute duplicates which are found within the product or documentation components evenly across de different translators, which is another unique of our technology.

This means that a duplicate when identified remains with the translator which got the first occurrence of the string, or string segment.

This becomes extremely useful when translation volume goes up, and duplication levels are increasing beyond different translators.
